Dealing with Damp
Architects and building surveyors looking after historic places of worship are often called in to tackle problems associated with damp.
The key to successfully dealing with dampness is to identify the source of the moisture ingress and then tackle the root cause of the problem.
This case study illustrates the link between the signs of dampness observed on the inside of the church building and the cause of the problem on the outside of the building. The images were kindly supplied by architect Nicholas Warns.
